Posilam text jedne pisnicky od Boiragi:

He has come a long way
to finish this race
and he's not gonna leave here
with a downcast face

He's a runner
and that's way he knows
He's a runner and that's way he shows

When he is running
he doesn't think about anything else
He just keeps running
doesn't even think of himself
If you ask him
what is he doing it for
He might just look at you
and say I'm not really sure

But he knows
deep in his heart
that his role's been cast
and he has to play his part

He's a runner ... ... tady jeste jeden text od Boiragi:

You must have heard that deep inner voice
that whispered: My friend, you have no choice
but to show this world that best way you can
that there are no limits for the soul of man
no limits for the soul of man

A thousand miles is a hard hard race
if you don't finish there is no disgrace
But for those who do cross that finish line
There is a prize within that can't be defined
a prize that just can't be defined

... a tady poems directly from Heaven:

Gratitude is
The most important thing in our life.
Nothing is more important
In God's Eyes
Than gratitude.

Gratitude Is the highest and deepest self-offering
To the Absolute.

Only one quality can save
All your problems-
Everybody's problems-
And that quality
Is called a gratitude heart.

Mnoho pozdravu ze srdce Evropy

Congratulations Dipali!,
What a beautiful photo of your very soulful finish...
Dipali you are one of my all-time hero-champion coaches in the world of soulful running. Everytime you race, you teach me a little more and I am so grateful.

Today I am filled with thoughts of your great accomplishment. And of the ability you have to share these experiences with all of us. Like Suprabha and Arpan, you open up a world of self-transcendence through Sri Chinmoy's inspiration that is absolutely thrilling for me.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Now get some rest and don't let anything bump into your toes!

Tapfere Magdalena, treuer Johann,

Dear Nickolas,

Thank you for being such a great coach and good friend.       Continue to turn to your spirit to find all the will and strength and knowledge and comfort that you need to succeed now and for always.         I am so proud of you!   Matt also wishes you a glorious victory.   We both agree that you are truly a "Masked Marvel."
Continue to pay attention to your own body and take all the good advice you have coached to everyone else.

May God Bless and keep you,

Belle

To all the awesome runner champions, You are an inspiration to us in San Francisco.
Lucian here in SF was so inspired - he is right now, at this very moment, doing a 12 hour race. He just finished 50 miles and has 1 more hour to go. (this was on Sunday)

Liebe Magdalena, lieber Johann!

Ziel
näherbringt. Wie geht es Dir? Was macht Dein Körper?
ziemlich sicher ins Center kommen.

"Run,

You can easily shake hands

With fleeting time.

Run,

You can easily challenge

The pride of frightening distance."

"O my poor body,

Your marathon run

Was not a bad mistake.

But your lack of marathon fun

Is, indeed, a sad mistake."

"Carry on the struggle.

You will eventually win.

Strive with vigour.

You will certainly win.

Depend entirely on God's Grace.

You will immediately win."

Luis Rios,

Sorry I can't make it out to cheer you on in person today. But keep your head up as the rain comes down. The weather is sure to improve by Saturday. I'll be back to bother you with lots of questions soon.

Til then,

Maureen

Hey Nikolas,

I hope you got my previous missive, but just in case you didn't; Thank you for your help last year.   I am glad to see you are taking care of yourself as well as you took care of us.   No matter what sacrifice you have to make, it's worth it to protect the health of your foot/feet.   Better healing, better feet and better races, ahead, eh?
I wish you the best and as always,

Blessings/Toodles,
CharLena

Cheers from around the world for the Ultra-Trio runners.

Hello everyone,
I really wanted to help the ultrarunners somehow, I know ( Do I?) what you are doing is u n b e l i v a b l e (or unbelivably beautiful).
Here is the poem, which I was inspired to write, when the ultra trio started.

                  I tied up my shoes,
                  I loosened my thoughts
Like a leaving soldier, I said:
"O mother, don't cry I will be back!
O God I am ready and packed!
When I am running the race
I just want You to pass
                  through my heart inner space_
                  blossoming daily with smiles,
                  overflowing with tears at night.
And then I am ready to fly/cry/die/smile/.
O God, while I am running these days
I just want You to pass..."

Happy Days To All Of You

Maria Latinova

Dear Chanakhya,

One of the reasons we all love to see you out there running is because we are hopeful more of your beautiful poems are being created with each step.

In the middle of the other night, Nirvik and I were chopping at Ananda Fuara. As always, the occasional conversation turned to the Ultra-Trio Runners and the day's results. Nirvik began to tell me about how much he loves your poetry. So simple and sweet. Then to my surprise, he walked over to his bag and pulled out an autographed copy of your latest book, Be Happy! He opened the pages to show me some of the poems. Little did he know, I also keep a collection of your books! The first poem he showed me was about cycling! After we read some more of your poems, I told Nirvik about my trips to The 3100 Mile Race and hearing your commentary of The Tour de France bike race!

I hope this 1,000 mile race is full of new poems you will eventually share with all of us! By the way, Nirvik was quite surprised to hear we could send messages to you out in the race. So he told me, to tell you, "Have a good race and run strong".
Every night since, he has asked me how you are doing... I am very grateful for the daily updates and photos!

One other running story for you - and Aryavan...
During the 2004 Self-Transcendence Marathon, Garbitashri, our hero marathoner, was having some problems toward the end of the race. We were trying to help her and find someone who had extra cell-salts to share. I looked over my shoulder and called out for cell salts. Now for the life of me, I am sure it was either Aryavan or Chanakhya who caught my eye and yelled - "Yes, I have a WHOLE bottle!" and sent it up for her to use.

I tell you, I love it when our experienced ultra-runners are in the race! I can't distinguish in my mind which of the two of you it was who offered the cell salts, but I know either of you would have done it!

Wishing you both good miles.
Happy running!

Hallo liebe Magdalena! Hallo lieber Johann!

Fantastic to see, "virtually", everyone of you runners out on the course now!
Thanks Salil for all of the neat photos. They are posted up in San Francisco for all to see and marvel over. And you are right, who knows WHO might be inspired to run next year!

We all send our best thoughts -clear across the country to each runner! So sorry my computer doesn't have all those cool letters that the Russians and I'm not sure who else, are writing with - and they are very very cool! What an international team we have running...

Tzvetan... Lucian is so inspired, he is running a 12 hour race this weekend! So you can remember him on Sunday while he thinks of you speeding along there in New York.
Happy running,

Dear runners,
please know that I am with you in mind every day and night. I watch all   the photos and I look at your progress in the internet. Thanks, by the way, to the person who keeps the web site that well up to date every day!
I wish best luck to everybody, especially to the runners in the 1300 miles race, and very especially to Svetlana (very sorry - I always forget her new spirituel name). I know her well. She is doing great! What an amazing woman!!
Please all of you, enjoy to live your dreams and try to do the best thing out of every second of the race.........that will definitely make you fulfill THE DREAM!!!! Good luck to everybody!
(I hope I will be back on the course next year already. Unfortunately, I could not be out there last year because of Trans Europe Footrace and this year I had to have a knee surgery in summer. But I am back on the road and finished a 12 hours race only seven weeks thereafter)
Best wishes from Martina Hausmann, Germany

Dearest Dipali,

Nothing good comes easily but, when God sees how you apply yourself of course he rewards you as he sees fit. Of course, your lovely handler, Maya, we are also proud of your hard work. You're doing a great job taking care of our Mother!

We love you both! From: Nick and Annie.

We love all you runners and wish you the best of luck. Hope every one of you reach your goals in this event!

Great Job!

Lunthita,
We are thinking of you and wish we were there.

Dear Mags
Run Baby Run
Mark

A hallo to all the runners out there!
Especially to   Magdalena and Rainald from Austria, Christopher M.and R.,Tzvetan, Aryavan...there are too many.
I am sitting   here at the computer in a cosy chair and I am thinking of you. It is so nice to see your efforts and your pictures on the internet, it feels that I   am a part of the race and I would really like to be there, hanging out with you on the track, since there are so many of you whom I do know.
I wish you all a sunny and dry race and lots of inner experiences.
From the land of Mozart-balls
Smarana

Nickolas,
I am very excited to see that no sooner have you withdrawn from the 1300 mile race, that you start the 700! I wish you the best of luck in your second multi-day race. I'm sure that once you really get in the groove, you will be an absolute juggernaut!
Tsvetan, your first day mileage leaves me gasping for breath, overshadowed as it is only by Rimas and Dipali, who we all know ascended long ago to the pantheon of Immortal Multi-Day Runner Gods, that lofty place we mere mortals can only dream of attaining. But you are well on the way!
And it is with great joy that I watch Aryavan and Chanakhya rack up the miles in the 1000 mile race. I hope that the rain leaves you alone from now on. And I just wish everyone nothing but the best as you all challenge the elements, yourselves, the track, etc in your race towards the Goal.

Liebe Magdalena!

wirklich schon sehr schmutzig).

ganzem Herzen. Aber Du hast ja doppelten Beistand. Laß Johann schön grüßen.
Kommt Ihr gut zurecht?
Ingrid

Ein paar Essais

Who is the winner? Not he who wins the race but he who loves to run
sleeplessly and breathlessly with God the Supreme Runner."

The one who competes with himself,
The one who crosses the finish line first
And the one who finishes the race."

Dear Lunthita,
Whoa, you are amazing, I hope you are having a great run.   Thinking of you and wishing you success and joy every mile, Malini

Hi Christopher Rana,

Hallo Rainald, Magdalena, Christopher R.&M., Tzvetan, Aryavan...there are too many to name.
I am sitting in a cosy chair and I am following your progress on the internet. Seeing the pictures from you makes me feel that I am with you on the course.
I wish you a dry and sunny race and lots of inner experiences.
Your running brother

Latest news from the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team's Fall Ultra-Trio Race

The remants of Hurricane Ivan were fortunately quite mild with only short but intense deluges of rain. There was however quite a bit of flooding as you can see from the most recent photo gallery.

All the runners are in excellent spirits and looking forward to being joined on by the 700 mile runners. Nicholas Day hopes to be rejoining the race on Manday as a 700 mile participant.

Thanks for all your messages of support on the Virtual Cheer Squad and we look forward to many more.

Origins of the Ultra-Trio

About the Ultra-Trio
The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team is pleased to offer one of the world's most unique and difficult endurance events, the Self-Transcendence Ultra Trio. Taking place over 19 days the event encompasses running races of 1300, 1000 and 700 miles. All races are run on a one mile loop, in a style known as 'go as you please.' Runners must use patience, perseverance and common sense, often running close to injury and foregoing sleep in order to attain their daily miles. All services are provided trackside, including food, medical assistance, showers and lapcounting. The running course is certified by USA Track and Field, the governing body of athletics. The competitors sleep in tents and share the road for up to 20 hours a day. The 1300 mile runners need to average 72 miles a day for 18 days (19 days for women) - almost three marathons a day. The 1000 mile race requires 67 miles a day; the 700 miler a mere 58 per day!

Ultra-Trio History
Our first super-long ultramarathon was this hemisphere's first 1000 miler, held at Flushing Meadow Park in 1985. Three men completed the distance, with American pioneer Don Choi finishing first in 15 days 6 hours, out of a field of 15 runners. The 1986 race featured five finishers under 15 days- New Yorker Stu Mittleman winning with a world best of 11 days 20 hours. The 1987 race became the Ultimate Ultra Trio as 1300 and 700 mile distances were added. Although no one completed the 1300 miler, Marty Sprengelmeyer (USA) led the way with 1250 miles. In 1988 the Greek legend Yiannis Kouros assaulted the 1000 mile standard with an astounding world record performance of 10 days 10 hours, averaging 97 miles per day. Sandra Barwick of New Zealand became the first woman to reach 1000 miles in the Ultra Trio with a world best of 14 days 20 hours. In 1989 Scotsman Al Howie became the first person to reach 1300 miles within the time limit with a remarkable performance of 17 days 8 hours, followed by two other men, Ian Javes of Australia and Stefan Schlett of Germany. Suprabha Beckjord of Washington,DC broke the women's 1000 mile world best by 27 minutes that year. Al Howie dominated the 1990 1000 mile event and a year later broke his own 1300 mile record, winning in 16 days 19 hours. Sandra Barwick returned in 1991 to not only shatter the women's 1000 mile standard(12 days 14 hours) but also to become the first female ever to run 1300 miles in a certified race (17 days 22 hours). Antana Locs of Canada and Marty Sprengelmeyer also joined the elite group that have conquered the 1300, each setting new national standards. In 1992 Suprabha Beckjord was added to the 1300 finishers list as she completed the race on the new Ward's Island running course. I993 saw Istvan Sipos of Hungary break Al Howie's record with a brilliant run of 16 days 17 hours. Antana Locs and Suprabha Beckjord both joined Al Howie as two time finishers. In 1994 Locs and Beckjord became the only three time finishers, still keeping the elite list of finishers at eight names. In 1995 Latvian runner Georgs Jermolajevs set a new world best at 1300 miles in 16 days 14 hours.

Ultra-Trio 2004 - Sept 16

Ultra-Trio 2004 - Sept 16

Petr Spacil completed 68 miles on his third day of running. Nickolas Day had a reoccurence of an ankle injury, making it hard to even walk, so he retired. He might resurface in the 700 Mile Race if the ankle gets better. Pratishruti continued her journey with 65 miles. Today two men joined the 1000 mile race, which is in its nineteenth running. Sukalpa Poorhits ran 63 miles on her opening day. The remnants of weather systems related to Hurricane Ivan might reach our area over the weekend..

"Each individual on earth is running towards his destination.

If the runner is wise, he will be very simple; he will wear

only the basic, necessary garments, and not something very

heavy or expensive which will draw the attention of the spectators.

If the runner is wise, he will also be sincere. Sincerity means

that he will yearn only for the goal and not be distracted

by the flowers and fruits that he passes along the way.

If the runner is sincere, he will run only in his own lane.

He will not enter into the lanes of others and disturb them.

The wise runner will also be pure. When we are pure,

we see clearly with our inner vision that not only are we

running toward the ultimate Goal, but the Goal itself is

also running towards us. " Sri Chinmoy

So to hold!

Pratishruti, only yours great aspiration will result you in the goal - to Self-Transcendence

In the internal plan now you and Suprime are one.

In the external plan you and Rageshri - are one.

I wish to both of you successes.

All the action from Sept 14

Nicholas Day ran 84 miles in the first day and was running very conservatively, paying close attention to any niggling pain which has the potential to develop into major injuries. So far he gives himself a clean bill of health. Petr was moving along nicely and the two women were only seperated by 5 miles after 48 hours. Tomorrow at 12.00 noon one more runner joins the frey for the Women's 1000 mile race.

after the first 24 hours.

Pratishruti Kisamoutdinova, 60, from Smolensk,Russia, led off the first day of the 1300 Mile race with 84 miles, followed by Kate Condon, from Chichester, England, who had 75. Both ladies looked good the first day, despite hot, humid conditions at start-time.By evening, cool, southerly breezes allowed the runners to cruise along with still fresh legs. Petr Spacil, 26, of the Czech Republic and Nicholas Day, 41, of Trinidad started at 12.00 noon exactly 24 hours after the women. Both men are first timers to this distance and we wish them well. By Sept. 20th, some 25 runners will be circling the one-mile loop near Meadow Lake, chasing their dreams, as all three races will kick off this seventeenth anuual multiday event.
